Information in your browser

Liked and download-operation post IDs, quality, language and region preferences are stored in this browser. Like lists and download history are not synced to the server. To reduce repeats in recommendations, up to 200 watched post IDs and timestamps are stored only in this browser for seven days. Up to 24 candidate metadata entries (including video URLs) are cached in the browser for five minutes to speed up return visits. The complete chronological viewing history is not synced and can be cleared by deleting site data. History can be cleared from Saved and does not confirm completed file saves. Quality and language preferences are also stored in cookies for the initial page. Clearing site data removes likes and preferences.

Local recommendation preferences

Naturally played portions, early skips, likes and save actions adjust recommendations only in this browser. Preferences for up to 64 authors are used for 30 days, with older signals given less weight. We do not infer topics from captions or personal attributes. These preferences and the complete chronological history are not uploaded and can be removed by clearing site data.

Servers and external requests

twitok.app is the address of the viewing page. Video files are hosted on X’s CDN (video.twimg.com) and loaded directly by your browser. We display playback controls and favorites over the video; our servers do not store or relay video files. Downloads temporarily use browser memory before being saved to your device. We retain post IDs, registration dates, authors, the first 160 characters of text and thumbnail URLs for the catalog. This does not include video files. Your browser loads videos and images directly from X, which receives connection information including your IP address. Cloudflare processes this site and API and also receives connection information.

Posts resolved from a submitted URL or a save action are added to the site catalog with their post ID and addition time. Detailed playback metadata, including video URLs, is valid for one hour. Restoring a local like list alone does not add posts to this catalog.

Save operation counts

Clicking download or the save share button sends the post ID, operation ID, time and connection country. This does not confirm a completed save. To limit abuse, we compute a daily HMAC of the IP address for deduplication. The raw IP is not stored in our application database. Records older than 8 days are removed by hourly cleanup. Cumulative per-post totals remain after individual records expire.

There are currently no ads. First-frame and video-switching performance measurements are not automatically uploaded.

Reports

Comment posting and public display have ended. Report reasons, post IDs and submission times are stored on the server and visible only to administrators, without automatic expiration. Turnstile is currently off. Raw IPs are not stored; daily HMAC rate-limit records are cleaned after two days. Administrator session cookies last four hours.

Local favorites

Favorites and download history are stored in this browser’s IndexedDB, up to 10,000 entries each. Existing browser lists are migrated and are not deleted by site updates. Reactions and bounded viewing scores for videos you interact with contribute to anonymous popularity totals. Settings provides backup export and restore. Clearing site data or device storage limits may remove these lists. Previous anonymous like records and comments remain administrative records without automatic expiration. Anonymous usage totals

To improve the service, we send batched totals for page views, page category, language, visible time, actual playing time, views, skips, completions and save actions. The server determines the connection country. Cloudflare Analytics Engine retains these totals for three months. This analytics data contains no user IDs, post IDs, URLs, individual viewing history, raw IP addresses or User-Agent strings. We suppress these usage reports when the browser signals GPC or DNT. Totals are approximate and do not verify completed downloads or unique people.

Privacy rights

We use information for the purposes described here and handle access, correction, restriction and deletion requests under applicable law. Contact hi@twitok.app; identification may be needed and anonymous records may not be identifiable. Contact emails are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to Proton Mail for replies and request handling.

When the usual source cannot provide video information, our server sends the post ID to the public FxEmbed API (api.fxtwitter.com) to retrieve it. We do not forward your cookies, credentials or IP address. FxEmbed receives the post ID and our server connection information. Your browser continues to fetch video files directly from X.

Popularity signals

We batch touched post IDs, like states, capped playback time and completion coverage about every two minutes or 20 videos, and when leaving the page. Country is determined by the server. We do not upload your full favorites list or personal preferences. A daily, per-post HMAC derived from the IP prevents duplicates; raw IPs and cross-video user identifiers are not stored. Per-post scores and deduplication records expire after about eight days. Unlikes adjust the current day; earlier evaluations expire through seven-day decay. Replays and loops are capped per post/day. GPC/DNT disables these reports. This is separate from page-level usage analytics.
